The Highly Collectible Plymouth-Barracuda

Although Plymouth-Barracuda was not all that successful during its development years with regards to revenue, it continues to be one of the most sought-after vintage vehicles today. The available Barracudas sell at high costs at sales. Those created between 1970 and 1974 are in particular very popular with car lovers who have come to appreciate the automobile’s performance and performance.

The first creation of the Plymouth-Barracuda car was created between 1964 and 1966. This was a 2-door fastback vehicle that could be found with three different engines; the 2.8 Litre Slant-6 16, 3.7 Litre Slant-6 16 and the 4.5 Litre LA V8 google. It was designed with a wheelbase of 106 inches wide and calculated 188 inches wide and 70 inches wide in size respectively. Standing at a size of 54.5 inches wide, the car assessed just 1,406 kg.


Produced by Plymouth, a department of Chrysler, the first Barracudas intensely obtained from Chrysler’s Valiant with regards to design. This however modified as the Barracuda came to feature its own unique components. The 1966 Barracudas presented new taillights, front part piece steel and a completely new dash panel.

Production of the second creation Barracudas run from 1967 to 1969. Three models were available; 2-door fastback vehicle, 2-door notchback vehicle and 2-door convertibles. These used different google such as 3.7 Litre Slant-6 16, 4.5 Litre LA V8, 5.2 Litre LA V8, 5.6 Litre LA V8, 6.3 Litre B V8, 7.2 Litre RB V8 and 7.0 Litre HEMI RB V8 google. In leaving from the Valiant, the new Barracudas were designed in a different way. They presented coke-bottle part shapes and restyling of both front and rear part areas. They had concave back outdoor patio sections, rounded part cups and broader rim opportunities amongst other upgrades.


Production of the third creation Plymouth Barracuda started in 1970 and led to 1974. These were available in 2-door notchback vehicle and 2-door sports convertible system styles. These used different google from the 3.2 Litre Slant-6 16 to the 7.2 Litre RB V8 google. These Barracudas presented a different system style, the E-Body, which basically removed the common function with Chrysler’s Version. Even with such upgrades, the Plymouth Barracuda did not do well with regards to revenue as most car customers decided to by Chryslers instead.
